About Us

TS (Tim) Robinson - Founder

Tim Robinson is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt (MBB) during his tenure with Bank of America. Tim holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Missouri University of Science & Technology and dual graduate degrees (MBA and Masters in Computer Resources & Information Management) from Webster University.

Tim has over thirty (30) years experience in Total Quality Management (TQM) & Continuous Process Improvement.  As a Master Black Belt, he has been involved in the roll out of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) & Lean Six Sigma across multiple organizations.  Tim’s core competencies include: Project Management and Cross Functional Team Leadership; LEAN Six Sigma Process Improvement; DFSS Project Development; Strategy Development and Execution; Business, Market, and Technology Strategic Design;  Regulatory Compliance & Audit Management; Enterprise Operational Risk Management; Corporate Vendor Management;  Quality Assurance, Management Information Systems Reporting and Change Management.

Tim began his career straight out of college with AT&T, where he spent twelve (12) years in progressively responsible management positions, culminating with the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award being awarded multiple times while he was a key contributor within AT&T Network Services, AT&T  Universal Card Services, and AT&T Consumer Communications.  All-in-all, Tim worked in ten (10) different organizations during his career with AT&T, spanning: Operations, Change & Project Management; Process Improvement; IT & MIS Reporting;  Research & Development; Training & Delivery; Call Center Operations; Collections; eCommerce & Internet ISP; and as Senior Advisor to the Universal Card CEO and his Executive Team.  The highlight of his AT&T career occurred within the 800# Service Assurance organization.  When initially launched, the service guarantee allowed AT&T business customers with associated 800 #’s to reroute their calls to another number (in case of an emergency) upon request within twenty-four (24) hours, else their service was free for the following month.  Within three (3) months, Tim leaned out the process through the TQM discipline (the predecessor to Six Sigma) such that all future Service Assurance requests were guaranteed to be rerouted within thirty (30) minutes or less (a 98% service level improvement)!

Consequently, Tim was pursued by and offered an opportunity with Bank of America, where he continues his successful career over the past eighteen (18) years, serving as a Master Black Belt and Senior Vice President in various organizations. His career includes: Director of the Customer Service Delivery Group within the Consumer Finance Group; Consumer Risk Reporting Executive within Consumer Risk Solutions; Enterprise Operational Risk Executive within Corporate Risk; Change Management Executive within Enterprise Financial Crimes and Global Anti-Money Laundering;  IT Management Executive with the Merrill Lynch Transition; and Senior Vice President within the Legal, Compliance and Regulatory Relations Technology & Operations organization.

Tim’s key accomplishments in these positions include: managing and implementing multi-generational strategic initiatives totaling over $1B in cost while providing multi-billion dollar efficiencies; leading and directing Senior managers to execute complex solutions to key business problems;  training, coaching and certifying hundreds of Six Sigma candidates in Green, Black, Master Black, DFSS and LEAN curriculums; providing ongoing advice and counsel on key topics / issues to top executives; and mitigating regulatory & reputational risks by implementing and improving upon corporate-wide controls, processes, standards, and enterprise protocols.

During Tim’s tenure at Bank of America, he leaned out the Six Sigma DMAIC methodology towards process-centric activities, introducing LEAN Six Sigma certification for candidates with process-only initiatives (coining the DMC methodology).  Within this process-centric approach, he also developed a risk management component which introduced an assessment process with escalation and authorization protocols, giving rise to the AGILE and SCRUM environments now applicable to general business operations.  One of Tim’s major accomplishments to date within a LEAN Six Sigma environment was mapping out the Bank’s enterprise technology landscape within the Risk Management division, identifying defects of data quality, storage, speed, redundancy, access, and timeliness, and developing a holistic solution solving for these deficiencies.  The entire effort spanned over eighteen (18) months, involved fifty two (52) disparate systems, cost $53MM to design & develop an integrated solution, and saved the company close to a half billion ($490MM) dollars over a five (year) period.

Tim’s strength lies in mobilizing upper level client teams to create efficient implementation plans for complex, multi-million dollar initiatives (in both Operations and Technology), where he can utilize his proven leadership, vast management experience, diverse communication skills and his 30 years of industry expertise for creative problem solving to achieve customized solutions that are bold, innovative and optimal for any given situation or challenge from both a process, people and systems perspective.

Aside from Corporate America, Tim is considered a career polymath (jack-of-all-trades, master-of-some), holding part-time jobs in many other professions (passions that naturally evolved over time into jobs).  He is a personal trainer and group exercise instructor at Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, and a self-defense and Tai Chi instructor at the University of North Florida.  He holds black belts in five (5) different martial arts spanning thirty (30) years of training and teaching including: Jujitsu, Taekwondo, Aikido, Jodo, Karate and Wing Chun Kung Fu (www.tsrtactical.com).   He entertains audiences as a professional standup comedian at comedy clubs throughout Florida and was a finalist in the 2014 Florida’s Funniest Comedian Competition.  He’s a published author of three (3) science fiction & fantasy novels (www.tsrbook.com), traveling the country as a literary guest and keynote speaker at various book-signings and comic conventions, most notably accompanying Stan Lee at the 2015 MegaCon Convention in Orlando, FL.  He founded the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers Group of Jacksonville, FL (SFFJAX), where he conducts monthly creative writing workshops and classes to a community of over 350 accomplished writers, artists and students in the greater North East Florida area.
